Nutritional Therapy

WHAT IS NUTRITIONAL THERAPY?

Nutritional therapy is a science based, foundational approach to whole body wellness. As a Functional Nutritional Therapy Practitioner, Dr. Jen focuses on balancing the 'foundations' of optimal health: digestion, blood sugar balance, fatty acid balance, hydration, mineral and vitamin balance. 

How do we get to these balanced foundations? Primarily through a nutrient-dense whole foods diet adapted to fit the needs of each person based on their bio-individuality.

In today's constantly stressed society, many have impaired digestion and unbalanced sugar handling mechanisms. With impaired digestion alone, we often fail to absorb the nutrients we are putting into our bodies and many foods in our modern food supplies are depleted of nutrient before they even get to us. Our bodies constantly use and need fatty acids, minerals, vitamins and energy - if we are unable to properly break down the nutrients we eat, or are simply not consuming the nutrients we need to function optimally, we will inevitably become deficient and suffer from imbalances in the body. 

SUPPLEMENT THERAPY

Supplement therapy is often used in conjunction with a whole foods-based diet to ensure that all nutritional needs are met. Dr. Jen conducts a thorough systems and symptoms based analysis to develop a supplement protocol tailored to your body. All of the supplements used are professional grade and designed to support the body in healing and balancing itself with bioavailable nutrients that are easily absorbed by the body.
